How to configure video event locking for an alarm

Procedure Steps

Video event locking locks a segment of video when a specified alarm is generated. This prevents the video from deleted when archiving space is limited. To configure video event locking for an alarm:

1) In System Administration on the Administration > System Options > General System Options tab, verify that the Linkage Server host field contains the hostname of the computer running the Linkage Server service.

2) On the computer where the Linkage Server service is installed, verify that the service is running.

3) In System Administration, configure the camera channel for which event video will be locked. This may be either a standard camera channel or a failover camera channel.

4) In System Administration on the Video > Digital Video > Alarm-Video Configuration tab, select the alarm from the listing window and click [Modify].

5) Select Begin Locking Video, then click [OK].

6) Create a device-camera link in System Administration on the Video > Digital Video > Device - Camera Links tab to link the camera to the device that generates the alarm.
Note: A device-camera link is not required for an alarm associated directly with the camera, such as Motion Detected (AI).

7) Log out and back in to Alarm Monitoring or select Options > Refresh Alarm Configuration from within the application.

When the alarm appears in the Main Alarm Monitor window, the camera icon next to the alarm will turn blue to indicate the event video is locked.
