Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Activation for browser-based Visitor Management on non-server operating systems

Symptom

On a non-server OS like Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you might not be able to access the Visitor Management browser-based application.

Resolution

Make sure that Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) HTTP Activation is enabled:
  1. Go to Control Panel > Programs, and then select Turn Windows features on or off.
  2. Select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
  3. Make sure Windows Communication Foundation HTTP Activation is checked.
