How to upgrade an LDVR GO! system

Procedure Steps

1) Stop all LDVR and OnGuard services on the digital video recorder.

2) Start the installer (setup.exe) for the new LDVR firmware.

3) The setup utility will first uninstall the old LDVR firmware, then prompt to reboot the computer. Click [OK] to reboot.

4) After the computer reboots, start the installer (setup.exe) for the new LDVR firmware again, to resume the installation.

5) When prompted for the storage location, click [Next].

6) Select the appropriate recording format (NTSC or PAL) and click [Next].

7) The Windows Security Utility is displayed. Click [Agree] after reading the disclaimer notice for the Lenel Windows Security Utility.

8) Click [OK] after reading the warning about changing system settings.

9) Click [Apply] to apply the required actions.

10) Click [OK] after reading the confirmation message.

11) To exit the Windows Security Utility, click [Close].

12) Click [OK] after reading the reminder message.

13) Select the storage drives that will be used and click [Add]. When finished adding drives, click [OK].

14) To exit the installation utility, click [Finish].

15) When prompted to reboot the computer, click [Yes].

16) After the computer reboots, stop all OnGuard services on the digital video recorder.

17) Insert the OnGuard disc into a computer running the Windows operating system.

18) Start the installer (setup.exe) located in the root of the OnGuard disc.

19) You may be asked to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. Click [Install] to begin installation. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 must be installed for some OnGuard features to work correctly.

20) If you agree to the terms of the Software License Agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, then click [Next].

21) If the hardware incompatibility detection window opens, select use configured DSN and click [Verify].

22) When prompted for a login ID, enter SA or Lenel, then enter the appropriate password for the user selected.

23) Click [Install]. You will be asked to stop the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service. If you confirm, any other services dependent on the WMI service will also be stopped.

24) When installation completes, the Windows Security Utility launches. Follow steps 7-12 to navigate through the Windows Security Utility. Reboot the computer if prompted.

25) Start License Administration and log in with the default username and password.

26) Click Install New License.

27) Browse to the license for the new version of OnGuard, then click [Next].

28) After viewing the details of the license, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click [Next].

29) Agree to the terms of the license and click [Finish].

30) Start Database Setup and click [Continue].

31) Choose the Upgrade database option, then click [Continue].

32) Click [Yes] to verify a backup of the database has been created.

33) To begin database setup, click [Execute].

34) If Web applications were being used on the computer prior to the upgrade, click [Yes] to run Form Translator after Database Setup completes.

35) Perform a download to the LDVR. If successful, your LDVR GO! system has been upgraded.
