How to Uninstall an Lenel NVR Server from a Windows System

Procedure Steps


Note: This article is written for all versions of Lenel NVR releases. It is aimed at documenting all of the relevant paths where Lenel NVR components could be found. Some files may not exist on your specific recorder, in which case you can skip to the next path.

1) Mark the Recorder Offline in System Administration.

2) Stop all services on the Lenel NVR.

3) Select Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program and remove the following programs:
- Lenel Network Video Suite Installation
- Lenel AppContext Common Component (all instances)

Note for Step 4: The ProgramData folder may be hidden. Take the appropriate steps for your version of Windows to unhide this folder. 
 
4) Delete the following folders:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\LNV Suite
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Lenel
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Lenel Shared
- C:\ProgramData\Lenel

Important: Modifying the registry could cause irreversible damage to your Windows operating system. Be sure to back up the registry before making any changes. Follow the instructions located at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756. 

5) Open the Registry Editor and delete the following entries:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lenel
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lenel

6) Reboot the computer.

Additional Information

Prior to an uninstall of the LNVR Suite it is recommended to run the Lenel Diagnostics Utility, LNLDIAG.exe, then current log files and camera xml files will be captured.
