How to configure Lenel services to restart on failure

Procedure Steps

1) Open Windows Services. To do this: click the Start button, then select Run.

2) In the Run dialog box type services.msc and click [OK].

3) In the Services window, locate the Lenel service you wish to modify. Most Lenel services are prefaced with LS.

4) Right-click the service and select Properties.

5) Select the Recovery tab.

6) Set the First failure drop-down box to be "Restart the Service".

7) Set the Second failure drop-down box to be "Restart the Service".

8) Set the Subsequent failures field to "Take No Action".

9) Click [OK].

The next time the service fails to start it will try to restart twice before failing.

Additional Information

These steps may be useful if the LS Communication Server service is not automatically starting even though it is set to automatically start at system boot. This may occur if dependent services were not started prior or the timeout period in which to start the service passed due to the server being busy.
