How to setup a failover on an LNL-3300 with a Cobox / Lantronix Device

Procedure Steps

  1. Use the CoBox parameters provided in the Hardware Installation Guide (Configuring a CoBox Micro 100 Using Telnet). Set 38400 as the baud rate, etc. in the interface.
  2. Verify you can ping the IP address and Telnet over the communication port on the Cobox / Lantronix device.
  3. Access Panel configuration in OnGuard: Set the Primary Connection and Secondary Connection to IPv4 with the correct IP address and port for both the Primary Connection and the CoBox.
  4. LNL-3300 IP configuration **(commonly missed): On the Host Comm page, set Alternate Host Port to Serial-Adapter with a baud rate that matches the Cobox (38400).
  5. Click [Accept], and then click [Apply Settings].
  6. Alarm Monitoring will show the panel online and the secondary connection when it is failed over.
