Creating Custom Event Text for an Alarm

 

Procedure Steps

In System Administration:
  1. Select Administration > Text Library to add Event Text.  
  2. Create the text in the Text Library, and then click [OK].
  3. Select Alarms > Alarm Definitions.
  4. Name the Custom Alarm.
  5. Select the device.
  6. Under Event, select Generic Event.
  7. An Event Text dropdown is shown. Choose the text that was previously created.
  8. Assign Generic Event to the alarm. Doing this makes the Alarm Description Format field writable.
  9. Select the text you want to display: Event Text Only, Alarm Name Only, Alarm Name and Event Text, or Event Text and Alarm Name.
As long as Display Alarm is selected, you should see the custom text when a custom alarm comes in.
