Which locations need to be updated if my OnGuard server name changes?

Procedure Steps


** The following is for OnGuard Enterprise and SQL applications. **

In SQL, perform a query to find the server name, and then replace the current server name with the new server name. Refer to Article  Errors in System Administration: ''Cannot find server 'servername' in sysservers'' or ''Server 'servername' is not configured for DATA ACCESS.''for this procedure.
 
In Configuration Editor replace the current server name with the new server name.
 
In System Administration, change the Workstation Name for:
  • Access Panels
  • Workstations
  • DV Products
  • Additional Hardware
  • Elevator Dispatching
  • Linkage Server Host, DataExchange Server Host, and Configuration Download Service Host (Administration > System Options > General System Options tab)
  • Client Update (found in Administration > System Options > Client Update on 6.5.624 or newer)
  • SMTP Server Settings (found in Adminstration > Global Output Devices).

 

In Replication Administration, change System Settings for the following locations (Master or Region):
  • Workstation Name where ID Allocation Service is running
  • Workstation Name where Replicator is running
  • Parent server workstation name
  • Workstation name where the Login Drive is running
  • ODBC Data Sources that connect to server must be modified to correct server name
In Master and Regional Databases verify that the LNL-DB table is updated to reflect new Server name.
In the Configuration Editor, change theData Source in the connection string settings of Configuration Editor (app).
In the ODBC configuration, change the SQL Server name in the ODBC connection.
In the ACS.INI file: ACS.INI – change host=”servername” under the [LicenseServer] heading.
