Reduced Rate Recording Not Supported with H.264 Cameras

Problem Overview

Reduced Rate Recording Not Supported with H.264 Cameras

Detailed Description

Reduced rate recording (including time-lapse) is not supported with H.264 cameras. The LNVR can only record at the rate of live recording, not less. Due to the nature of the H.264 algorithm, the gains of such a configuration are not as necessary as they are with non-motion based encoding technologies such as MJPEG. The frames that would be dropped comprise an insignificant percentage of the total storage due to the encoding algorithm.

In previous versions of OnGuard, these features were configurable in System Administration. Any existing configuration of these features will be reset to their default values and disabled. If upgrading to OnGuard 2010 with existing H.264 cameras, perform a full download for all existing LNVR recorders once the upgrade is complete. The following camera types are affected:

· Axis: Q7406, Q7401, P3301
· Sony: SNC-DF50DN, SNC-DF80DN, SNC-RZ50, SNC-RX550, SNC-CS50

Applies To

OnGuard 2010 (6.4.500)
