Modifying Hosts File
When configuring Server/Client connectivity on a work group, you must modify the hosts file for the machine to resolve the computer name with the IP address. Follow the below steps to modify the hosts file.
Procedure Steps
- Browse to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
- Open the hosts file in notepad.
- After the last line with #, type the IP address of the machine you are using, press and enter the name of the machine you using.
- Press and type the same information for the other machine(s) below the first line.
- Follow the same procedure for all other machine(s).
