Installing OnGuard on Microsoft Azure SQL requires manual configuration changes because:
- The field for the database server name during installation expects a valid hostname (such as DBSERVER0002, but not tcp:databasename.database.windows.net, which is how the database server name appears when using Azure SQL).
- Therefore, you must change the ODBC connection created during OnGuard installation manually after the installation completes.
Installation Procedure
To install OnGuard on Azure SQL:- In Setup Assistant, in the Database Configuration section, provide the valid server details, and uncheck Windows Authentication connection with database.
Note: After unchecking Windows Authentication connection with database, the password prompt will be for the OnGuard database owner. The default owner name is LENEL. - Configure the Login Driver with the correct database server name.
Applies To
OnGuard 8.1 and later
Additional Information
For OnGuard 8.2, refer to "Using Azure SQL Databases with OnGuard" in the OnGuard Installation Guide.
