How to replace the operating system drive in a 3U LNVR/LDVR

Procedure Steps

1) In System Administration, mark the LNVR/LDVR offline.

2) Power off the LNVR/LDVR.

3) Unplug both power cords and ground unit and user to same source.

4) Remove the top cover from the LNVR/LDVR.

5) Lift the securing latch on the drive bay.

6) Remove the SATA cable and power cable from drive.

7) Remove 3 screws from the drive tray and place to the side.

Note: There are 2 different sizes of screws.


8) Remove the front cover to drive bay.
 
9) Remove the drive bay.

10) Detach the drive from the bay and replace. There are 4 screws.

11) Place the drive bay back in the LNVR/LDVR.

12) Place the cover back in the LNVR/LDVR.

13) Replace the screws removed earlier.

14) Attach the SATA cable and power cable.

15) Replace the cover and plug in power cords.

16) Remove all storage drives.

17) Restart the LNVR/LDVR and insert the recovery DVD. If the recovery DVD does not boot, restart the LNVR/LDVR.

18) Run the recovery DVD and configure the network settings.

19) Power down the LNVR/LDVR.

20) Plug in all storage drives.

21) Power on the LNVR/LDVR and run the drive configuration utility.

22) Mark the LNVR/LDVR online in System Administration and perform a download.
