How to customize reader inputs and outputs

How to customize reader inputs and outputs

Procedure Steps

It is possible to configure which inputs are used for the door contact, REX, Aux input 1, and Aux input 2, and which outputs are used for the strike, Aux output 1, and Aux output 2. Default ACS.INI file settings are listed below.

1) Copy the following code into the ACS.INI file and then modify it to fit the custom wiring setup.

[ReaderInputOutputMapping]
// To enable remapping set ReaderInputOutputMappingMode=1
ReaderInputOutputMappingMode=0
// Inputs/Outputs for the single reader interface boards and other possible devices
ReaderInputDoorContact=0
ReaderInputRex=1
ReaderInputAux1=2
ReaderInputAux2=3
ReaderOutputStrike=0
ReaderOutputAux1=1
ReaderOutputAux2=2
// Inputs/Outputs for the dual reader interface - reader 1
Reader1_InputDoorContact=0
Reader1_InputRex=1
Reader1_InputAux1=2
Reader1_InputAux2=3
Reader1_OutputStrike=0
Reader1_OutputAux1=1
Reader1_OutputAux2=2
// Inputs/Outputs for the dual reader interface - reader 2
Reader2_InputDoorContact=4
Reader2_InputRex=5
Reader2_InputAux1=6
Reader2_InputAux2=7
Reader2_OutputStrike=3
Reader2_OutputAux1=4
Reader2_OutputAux2=5
// Inputs/Outputs for the LNL-2220 reader interface - reader 1
Reader1_2220_InputDoorContact=0
Reader1_2220_InputRex=1
Reader1_2220_InputAux1=2
Reader1_2220_InputAux2=3
Reader1_2220_OutputStrike=0
Reader1_2220_OutputAux=1
// Inputs/Outputs for the LNL-2220 reader interface - reader 2
Reader2_2220_InputDoorContact=4
Reader2_2220_InputRex=5
Reader2_2220_InputAux1=6
Reader2_2220_InputAux2=7
Reader2_2220_OutputStrike=2
Reader2_2220_OutputAux=3

2) To enable remapping set ReaderInputOutputMappingMode=1 in the ACS.INI file.

3) Restart the Communication Server and then perform database downloads to all panels that have downstream LNL-1300 or LNL-1320 devices.
