How do I configure a reader input to launch video on alarm?

Procedure Steps

1) From the Video menu in System Administration, select Digital Video. The Digital Video folder opens.

2) Click the Device - Camera Links tab.

3) Click [Add]. The Select Device window opens.

4) Select "Reader Input" from the Device Type drop-down, then select the access panel to which the reader input is connected from the Search Device by Panel Filter drop-down.

5) Select the reader input from the listing window, then click [Next]. The Select camera(s) window opens.

6) Select the video recorder to which the camera is connected from the Video Recorder drop-down. The names of the corresponding cameras will be displayed in the listing window.

7) In the cameras listing window, select the name of the camera(s) that you want to link.

8) Click [Save Link(s)]. The Summary window opens.

9) Click [Add More] to continue.
Note: It is necessary to create two device-camera links: one between the reader input and the camera and one between the reader and the camera. Activation of the reader input will not launch video unless both device-camera links are created.

10) Select "Reader" from the Device Type drop-down, then select the access panel to which the reader is connected from the Search Device by Panel Filter drop-down.

11) Select the reader from the listing window, then click [Next]. The Select camera(s) window opens.

12) Select the video recorder to which the camera is connected from the Video Recorder drop-down. The names of the corresponding cameras will be displayed in the listing window.

13) In the cameras listing window, select the name of the camera(s) that you want to link.

14) Click [Save Link(s)]. The Summary window opens.

15) Click [Finish].

16) Click the Alarm-Video Configuration tab, then select the alarm to launch video from the listing window.

17) Click [Modify], then select the Automatically Launch Video Player on Alarm check box.

18) Click [OK] to save the change. Configuration is now complete.
