How to check SQL Server authentication settings
Procedure Steps
1) Start Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.2) Right-click the server name and select "Properties."
3) Select the Security page.
4) Verify that Server authentication is set to SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode.
5) Verify that Login auditing is set to Failed logins only.
6) Click [OK] and exit the application.
