Flip card jam errors from Magicard Tango 2E printer while printing a badge

Symptom

Magicard Tango 2E produces Flip card jam errors, and the card jams in the card flip mechanism while printing.

Resolution

Note: Unplug the printer before proceeding.
  1. Open the lid on the printer and remove the ribbon film. Slide off the blanking panel (the extra plastic on top when the lid is open, covering the Flip mechanism). This provides a clear view into the printer.
  2. Remove the orange belt from the upper metal pulley on the left side.
  3. Rotate the Flip mechanism plate to a vertical position, making sure the small white roller is facing the front of the printer.
  4. Pull and hold the Flip Plate to the right, compressing the shaft spring. The area to the left of the white pulley is where you will be working.
  5. With a Q-tip, clean the grease from this area.
Note: Do not get lubricant on any of the rollers or belts, especially the orange belt.
  6. Lubricate the now clean area with PTFE lubricant or WD-40.
  7. Slide the pulley back into place and attach the orange belt.
