Database Installation Utility fails due to existing AccessControl database

Symptom

During installation of OnGuard, the Database Installation Utility window appears to create a new AccessControl database. However, the Database Installation Utility fails because the AccessControl database already exists.

Resolution

This issue occurs because the AccessControl database was created manually, prior to the OnGuard installation. In addition, during installation, the chosen database option was "SQL Server 2005 Express." This database option will force the OnGuard installer to launch the Database Installation Utility to create a brand new database, even if one already exists.

To resolve the issue, if you have an existing AccessControl database, choose "SQL Server 2005" as the database option, even if the installed database engine is SQL Server 2005 Express. This database option will not launch the Database Installation Utility, and will use the existing AccessControl database.
