''String Data Write Truncation'' error when importing goVision cameras to System Administration

Symptom

When attempting to import cameras from a goVision recorder, the error "String Data Write Truncation" is returned and the import fails.

Resolution

This issue is caused by the Camera Name field in the OnGuard database. This error indicates that camera name length has too many characters and will not fit in the SQL field. The maximum name length for importing cameras into OnGuard from the goVision recorder is 26 characters. To fix this error, you must change the camera name so that it has no more than 26 characters. This is done on the goVision recorder itself, or by using the Remote Station software.
