How is the Don't Care area treated when set at the Area leaving for local Anti-Passback?

Question

How is the Don't Care area treated when set as the Area leaving for local Anti-Passback?

Answer

When you configure the area leaving as Don't Care for local Anti-Passback, Anti-Passback processing will not use the current area for the badge when determining if it is coming from a valid location. The badge can exist in any location.

When used with access panels like the LNL-3300, if a badge is not moved into an area if it is closed or at maximum occupancy, the badge is still moved out of the area it was in (if the Store area anti-passback location setting is enabled on the access panel). It is then placed in the Don't Care area.

As an example, there are two badges in Area 1, and one of them tries to enter Area 2 which is closed with no badges in it. This attempt will result in access being denied, due to the area being closed, but the area occupancy count for Area 1 will now be 1, and the area occupancy count for Area 2 will still be 0.

Thus, using the Don't Care area can impact the area occupancy count based on the above scenarios
