Manually creating the LNRevents database using Management Studio
Procedure Steps
This article applies to LNVR firmware version 6.4.500 and later, and is useful in situations (particularly when installing SQL 2005 on Windows Server 2003) where SQL is installed but the database does not get created. You can use the below steps to create the database manually:
- Install SQL 2005 Express, using the Express.bat file found on Supplemental CD 8 in Prerequisite Software\Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express. If you need a strong password, use
expre$$1234
. - Install LNVR 6.4 Firmware.
- Install SQL 2005 Management Studio, using the SQLServer2005_SSMEE.msi file found on Supplemental CD 8 in Prerequisite Software\Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express.
- Create the LNREVENTS Database:
- Open Management Studio, right-click on databases, and then select New Database.
- Make the database name LNREVENTS.
- Set the initial size of the mdf to 50 MB, and the ldf to 10 MB. Both should be set to Unrestricted Growth.
- Click [OK].
- Right-click LNREVENTS, and then select <New Query>.
- From C:\Program Files\LNVSuite on the LNVR, right-click LnrEvents.sql and select <Edit>.
- Copy the entire contents of LnrEvents.sql (CTRL+A, CTRL+C), and then paste it in your query window.
- Execute the query.
- Under the Object Explorer, right-click LNREVENTS and select <Refresh>.
- Expand LNREVENTS and then expand Tables. You should see Event, LNLCONFIGLNR, LNR_PERF_COUNTERS, LNRFILES, and LNRLOC.
- Restart LNR services.
- Check free space on the storage drives. Change the free space allocation, if needed.
