High CPU utilization on LNVR with Axis cameras in low light conditions

Symptom

High CPU utilization of the LnrCapSvc.exe process on an LNVR with Axis MPEG4 cameras connected.

Resolution

The cause of the issue may be that one or more Axis MPEG4 cameras are recording in low light conditions.

For each Axis MPEG4 camera that is recording in low light conditions:

1) In System Administration, select Digital Video from the Video menu, then select the Camera tab.

2) Select the camera from the listing window and click [Modify].

3) Click [Camera Web Page]. The camera Web page is opened in your Internet browser.

4) Enter the username and password of the administrative account used to access the camera's settings.
Note: Steps may vary depending on the camera model and firmware version.

5) Navigate to the MPEG-4 Settings page by selecting Setup > Video & Image > Advanced > MPEG-4.

7) In the Bit Rate Control section, select the Constant bit rate radio button, then specify a reasonable number.

8) Click [Save].

After these steps have been performed for each camera recording in low light conditions, the CPU utilization of the LnrCapSvc.exe process should decrease to normal levels.
